Watch: Aerial footage shows train wreckage removal
Engineers have used a specialist crane to remove the two trains involved in Friday's fatal crash near Bedford.
Overhead power lines were removed to allow the crane to lift the carriages, which have been transported away by road.
An inspection will now take place, with any necessary track repairs being completed before the power lines are reinstated.
Network Rail has anticipated that the Midland Mainline will remain completely closed to both EMR and Thameslink trains until the end of the week.
