The field turned into unauthorised travellers' site over weekend

Aerial pictures show caravans on a newly built travellers' site that appeared over a weekend.

Central Bedfordshire Council said it was made aware of unauthorised work taking place in Tilsworth, near Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, on Friday.

The authority said it would serve enforcement documents as a retrospective planning application submitted on Friday was not received until Monday and had not yet been validated.

A man who lives in the area said those behind the recent development felt an existing travellers' site nearby was overcrowded.
