A man in his 60s has died after a two-car crash on the M1 in Leicestershire.

Police were called at 08:00 BST on Sunday, after a report of the crash involving a red Ford Focus and grey BMW 5 Series just north of junction 20 for Lutterworth.

The driver of the Focus was taken to hospital but died on Tuesday, Leicestershire Police added, while the BMW driver, also in his 60s, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening nor life-changing.

The force said an investigation into the fatal crash was continuing, and appealed for anyone with information - including motorists with dashcam footage - to come forward.
