Traffic signal work planned at busy junction

Motorists are being warned of disruption ahead of traffic light upgrades at a main city centre junction in Hull.

The new signals at the junction of Ferensway and Anlaby Road will reduce carbon emissions, improve traffic flow and enhance safety, Hull City Council said.

The work will start on Monday and is expected to take five days to complete.

Four‑way temporary traffic lights and full pedestrian crossings will be in place during the work, the authority added.

The council said the traffic signals would be replaced with modern, low‑energy LED technology and would improve energy efficiency.

The authority said it was part of its wider pledge to reduce carbon emissions across the city.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo said: "As a council, we are always working proactively to improve and enhance the city's highway network for road users and pedestrians."

He added: "We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we work to improve this key city centre junction."
