Bristol and Wales bus services suspended after Halloween vandalism
First BusA bus company said it had been forced to suspend some services after drivers and moving vehicles were attacked over Halloween.
A spokesperson for First Bus Wales and West said at least two buses in Bristol and one in Wales were vandalised.
Rob Pymm, First Wales and West's Commercial Director, said large objects were thrown directly at the driver in at least two incidents.
The company said normal services will resume "as soon as possible".
No injuries have been reported, First Bus said.
"It is utterly disgraceful that our drivers and customers have faced this despicable behaviour from a minority of mindless vandals," Mr Pymm said.
"The images we have seen of our buses from last night speak for themselves; who in their right mind would consider throwing a heavy object at a moving bus, let alone towards the driver?"
First BusIn Bristol, both attacks took place on the company's new 70 cross-city route, Hengrove to the University of the West of England, near Melvin Square.
In Wales the 111 service between Llanelli and Swansea was attacked in the Castle Street Loughor area near Swansea.
In another incident in Wales, the number 6 from Port Tennant to Swansea was disrupted when a member of the public dressed in a Halloween costume stood in front of a moving bus blocking the route.
Mr Pymm said the attacks endangered both the drivers and "everyone on board".
He apologised for the inconvenience adding that driver and customer welfare is their priority, "even if that means stopping services for safety reasons".
