Detectives investigating a car bomb outside a police station have seized vehicles and electronic devices.

Last month, a man appeared in court charged with attempted murder over the explosion outside Dunmurry police station in April.

On Tuesday, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said its terrorism investigation unit, along with local policing and operational support officers, conducted searches in west Belfast.

"Two vehicles and a number of items, including electronic devices, were seized," a spokesperson said, adding that enquiries are ongoing.

What happened in Dunmurry?

Shortly after 22:50 BST on Saturday 25 April, a delivery driver's car was hijacked in the Twinbrook area of west Belfast.

The vehicle was fitted with a gas cylinder device and he was forced to drive it to the police station, on the outskirts of Belfast.

The attack took place in a built-up area, close to family homes in which many children were in bed asleep.

Several residents, including two babies, were taken to safety by officers when the bomb exploded.

The attack came just weeks after a similar incident at Lurgan police station.
