Derbyshire Police has appealed for witnesses to the hit-and-run in Normanton Road

A man has been arrested after a pedestrian sustained serious injuries in a hit-and-run in Derby.

Derbyshire Police said a white Audi S3 hit the pedestrian in Normanton Road, in Litchurch, at about 19:15 BST on 29 May. The person suffered serious injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

In an appeal published on Tuesday, the force added a man in his 20s had been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and bailed as inquiries continued.

Officers have appealed for witnesses, as there were "a large number of people present at the time".
