Man, 46, dies after crash between car and lorry on A9

A man has died after a crash between a car and a lorry on the A9 in Perthshire.

The collision involving a grey Audi A4 and a white Scania HGV happened near Dunkeld at about 06:00 on Friday.

Emergency services were called and the 46-year-old driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been made aware.

The lorry driver was taken to hospital as a precaution. Police Scotland has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Sgt David Farr said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this extremely difficult time.

"Our inquiries remain ongoing, and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or saw either vehicle prior to get in contact with officers.

"I'd also ask that those driving in the area at the time with dash-cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation."

The road was closed until around 18:30 to allow an investigation to be carried out.
