Man, 21, critical in hospital after Inverness assault

A 21-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after a serious assault in Inverness.

Emergency services were called to Telford Street in the city's Merkinch area at about 23:35 on Sunday.

Police Scotland said officers remained in the area and inquiries were ongoing.

A force spokesperson added: "Anyone with any concerns, or information, can approach these officers."
