Arson arrest after 'suspicious' fire at four properties
BBCA man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation following a fire in Winchester involving four commercial properties.
More than 50 firefighters in 10 fire engines were sent to the blaze in The Square at about 06:00 BST.
Hampshire fire service said crews at the "significant" fire were working to bring it under control and stop it spreading further.
People have been urged to avoid the area with a cordon in place blocking pedestrian access from High Street and vehicle access from Market Street. Hampshire police said no further injuries had been reported.
