Boston town centre revamp to be revealed

A new look for a formerly derelict site in Boston is to be unveiled soon.

The regeneration of the town centre's Rosegarth Square started in January last year.

An opening event will be held by Boston Borough Council next month, the local authority said.

The area between the River Witham and the bus station has been turned into a public park and it will include art, housing and shops.

The revamp has seen the former B&M and the Crown House buildings demolished to make way for the redevelopment.

New features include The Wave, a piece of art which symbolises the town's maritime history, amphitheatre seating and the Boston Buoys, which have been restored.

Rosegarth View, which includes 18 new flats and commercial space, is due to be completed later in the year.

Council leader Dale Broughton said: "This regeneration project has transformed the area into a vibrant and welcoming destination that will support local businesses, encourage visitors and provide a high-quality space [where people can] meet and relax."

The project cost about £15m, with the money coming from the government's Levelling Up Fund and the Boston Partnership Fund.
