Children traipsing around an unused cinema and posting on social media risk serious injury, police have warned.

Footage from inside Bracknell's former Odeon cinema and a closed NHS building, both in Skimped Hill Lane, has been posted on Snapchat, Thames Valley Police (TVP) said.

The cinema shut at the end of May 2025 and Lidl has said it wants to use the site for a new supermarket.

"Our message to anyone considering entering these sites under the guise of 'urban exploring' is simple: please don't," TVP said.

"Our officers have been inside both buildings – they are not interesting and certainly not worth risking serious injury for."

The force warned that walking around inside the buildings was "really dangerous" because of potential exposure to hazardous materials, including asbestos.

"We have had to contact parents to collect their children from these locations," the officers added.

"We would much rather not be making a call to inform you that your child has fallen from height or been seriously injured."
