Man charged after 100mph police chase through town
Two men have been arrested and one charged following a chase in which a stolen car reached speeds of 100mph.
A South Yorkshire Police patrol saw a car being driven suspiciously in Grimethorpe, Barnsley, on 7 August, and an officer pursued the vehicle, which did not stop.
The car had been reported stolen during a burglary in Barnsley two days previously.
The driver and passenger abandoned the vehicle in a housing estate in Kendray and tried to hide in residents' gardens before they were tracked down with the help of the National Police Air Service helicopter.

South Yorkshire PoliceOne of them was detained by officers and the other by a police dog unit.
A 26-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged with driving while disqualified, aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving.
The other man, 24, was arrested but released with no further action.
