Investigation after boy, 16, stabbed near park
BBCPolice have launched an investigation after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed near a park in Nottingham.
Nottinghamshire Police said it was called to Carlton Road, near King Edward Park in Sneinton, shortly before 19:30 BST on Friday, following reports a child had been attacked by a group of youths.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a boy with "several stab wounds". He was taken to hospital and treated for injuries that are "not now believed to be life-threatening or life-altering", the force added.
Police said inquiries were ongoing to trace the people involved and asked anyone with information to come forward.
Det Insp Ed Cook said: "As you would expect, we are treating this incident extremely seriously.
"An investigation is currently ongoing, as we look to determine exactly what happened and seek to find those responsible for this assault.
"On that note, I would urge anyone with information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, to please come forward and to speak to us.
"We would particularly like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have captured dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage whilst in the area."
