A waste and recycling centre has been evacuated after a fire in a small container for electrical rubbish.

West Northamptonshire Council said crews from the fire service were called to the scene at Sixfields, Northampton, at about 12:30 BST.

It said there was a "significant" amount of smoke.

The site has now been closed, but due to the heatwave, all other waste and recycling centres across the county were shut at 13:00.
