Second man in court accused of murdering teenager

A second man has appeared in court after being charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy who died from a stab wound.

Samrawi Soloman, 20, of Haslewood Square, Leeds, appeared at Northampton Crown Court on Tuesday accused of murdering Khadeem Parris.

Parris, from Motherwell, Scotland, died at an address in Adnitt Road in Abington, Northampton, on 7 July.

Soloman was remanded into custody until a plea trial and preparation hearing at the same court on 17 August.

It comes after Fuad Mohamud, of Thorn Hill Walk, Briar Hill, Northampton, appeared at Northampton Crown Court charged with murder on 15 July and was remanded into custody.

Judge Lucking said Mohamud would next appear on 17 August and will be asked to enter a plea.

Northamptonshire Police said two men aged 19 and 56 and a 51-year-old woman who had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender remain on police bail pending further inquiries.

Det Ch Insp Ryan Catling said: "To date, five people have been arrested, including two men who have been charged with murder. While this marks significant progress, our work continues and we remain determined to bring everyone involved in Khadeem's death to justice."

Catling appealed for information from anyone who was near Adnitt Road or Dallington Park between 18:15 BST and 19:15 on the 7 July.

"Please do not assume that someone else has already shared information with us. Even details that may seem insignificant could prove vital to our inquiries including dashcam footage that may have inadvertently captured something," he added.
