A record 10,700 people have taken part in this year's Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running in Inverness.

Elite athletes and local amateurs ran side by side from the start above Fort Augustus - in one of the most scenic running events in Scotland.

There were also 10k and 5k races, as well as 300 children under the age of five completing the popular Wee Nessie event at Bught Park.
