Police have reopened part of the A14 after investigating a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary closed the road between junction 35 at Stow Cum Quy and junction 36 for Newmarket at 13:00 BST.

The westbound carriageway was reopened almost four hours later but the eastbound stretch remained shut until 18:00.

National Highways said traffic was "beginning to ease in the area" after earlier delays of about 45 minutes.
