Five young people have been arrested in Londonderry after "spontaneous disorder" which involved stone throwing.

At about 18:30 BST on Saturday, police received reports that youths, with their hoods up, were throwing stones into the Fountain Estate.

The incident is being treated as sectarian-motivated.

Five people were arrested for offences including riotous behaviour, while a number of items, including a golf club, were seized from the area.

No injuries were reported.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact them.
