Hit-and-run suspect arrested after pedestrian dies
GoogleA driver has been arrested after a pedestrian died following a hit-and-run crash.
Officers were called to Ringmead in Bracknell, Berkshire, at about 23:45 BST on Saturday, said Thames Valley Police.
The pedestrian, a man aged in his 50s and from Bracknell, later died and his family has been informed, the force said.
A 25-year-old man, from Bracknell, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, the same offence while uninsured and failing to stop and report a road accident. He remains in custody.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash, which happened near the junction with Hanworth Road.
Officers did not give details of the vehicle involved.
Det Sgt Oliver Cahill-Smith said: "This incident will come as a shock to the community and Thames Valley Police is responding with a thorough investigation."
