An iconic beauty spot in the South West is set to be featured in a new Royal Mail stamp series.

Becky Falls in Devon is included in the Waterfalls Special Stamp Collection, which will go on sale from 23 June.

The landmark is one of just 10 waterfalls chosen for the collection from across the UK.

Paul Richards, owner of Becky Falls, said it was a "proud moment" for everyone connected with the waterfall, describing it as "one of Devon's most beautiful natural attractions".

"We hope this recognition will inspire more people to discover Becky Falls, helping us continue to protect and preserve its unique natural beauty for generations to come," he said.

The Becky Falls waterfall is 70ft (21.3m) high and over 35ft (10.6m) wide in parts where the Becka Brook runs between giant granite boulders and down the Bovey valley.

Other waterfalls featured in the collection are Rogie Falls in Scotland, Pollnagollum Cave in Northern Ireland, Aysgarth Falls in North Yorkshire, Pistyll Rhaeadr in Wales and Hardraw Force in North Yorkshire.

Also included is Rhaeadr y Graig Lwyd / Conwy Falls in Wales, Fairy pools of Glen Brittle in Scotland, High Force in County Durham and Ess-na-Larach in Northern Ireland.

David Gold, director of external affairs & policy, Royal Mail, said: "The British Isles are rich in natural beauty and these stamps highlight some of the UK's most striking waterfalls in all four nations.

"They showcase the richness of our natural environment which has been shaped by water over thousands of years."
