Man arrested in York rape investigation

A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape after a woman was attacked in York.

North Yorkshire Police said the incident happened in Bar Lane, in the Micklegate area of the city, at about 22:00 BST on Tuesday.

The force said the woman was receiving specialist support whilst the investigation continues.

Anyone with information or any relevant footage taken in the area is asked to contact police.
