Cash machine stolen in ram raid at service station

Police have released CCTV images of people they believe may have information about the incident

A cash machine was ripped out of a service station during a ram raid before later being dumped in a burned out car, police have said.

A black vehicle, believed to be an old Nissan Juke, was driven into Wetherby Services through doors near the M&S Food store at about 02:00 BST on Wednesday, according to North Yorkshire Police.

Two men then attached a chain to an "&PLAY" machine before it was pulled free by the car and loaded into the back.

The vehicle was later found in Leeds, where it had been set on fire with the machine still inside.

Officers said four men wearing face coverings and gloves were involved in the incident.

The force has asked anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the car travelling between Wetherby and Leeds between 01:00 and 05:00 to get in touch.
