Man charged with murder after fatal stabbing

A man has been charged with murder after a 57-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Doncaster.

Wayne Solomon was found seriously injured in Galsworthy Close just before 23:00 BST on Wednesday, and died later in hospital.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed Brandon Gilbert had since been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.

The 24-year-old, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody to appear at Barnsley Magistrates' Court on Monday.

A 46-year-old man who had been arrested on suspicion of murder, possession of an offensive weapon and robbery has since been released with no further action.

He remains on bail for dangerous driving.

A 52-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder, and two women, aged 45 and 51, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have all been bailed pending further inquiries.

A 24-year-old man previously arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action.
