Kilnhouse Lane will be shut from the Melling's Lane junction to the Queensway intersection from 15 June

A major Lancashire junction is set to close for up to three months while work surrounding a homes development takes place.

A section of Kilnhouse Lane, in Lytham St Anne's, will be closed to traffic from 15 June to 21 September as road works take place outside a nearby development site.

The route will be shut from the Melling's Lane junction to the Queensway intersection unless work should finished before that date, Lancashire County Council said.

The closure is being enforced to allow changes to the road system outside a homes development at Richmond Point.

An alternative route will be signposted along Blackpool Road North to where it joins Queensway, the council said.

Queensway, the B5621, is a major link road between St Annes and Blackpool.

The council has said pedestrian access to homes will always be maintained during this period.
