Boy airlifted to hospital after bike and bus crash

The incident occurred on Clifton Drive South in St Annes, police said

A 12-year-old cyclist has been airlifted to hospital after he was seriously injured in a crash also involving a bus.

Lancashire Police said the boy was taken by air ambulance following the collision on Clifton Drive in St Annes on Friday.

A police spokesperson said they were called to the scene by North West Ambulance Service at 07:43 BST.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

The North West Air Ambulance confirmed "the patient was treated then airlifted to Alder Hey Children's Hospital".
