Thieves broke in through a window at Maiden Newton Fire Station before making off with equipment

Thieves who broke into a fire station and stole equipment are sought by police.

The incident at Maiden Newton Fire Station, in Harveys Close, happened overnight on 12 June, according to Dorset Police.

The force said an offender - or offenders - broke in through a station window and took equipment from inside the building.

Police are calling on any witnesses or people who may have captured relevant CCTV footage to get in touch.

Con Richard Robson, of Dorset Police, said: "We have launched a full investigation into this incident and are carrying out detailed inquiries to identify those involved."
