A 14-year-old girl has been arrested after a man was stabbed with a broken bottle in Mansfield.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to Mansfield bus station at about 19:30 BST on Saturday following reports a man, in his 40s, had been assaulted.

He was taken to hospital with injuries to his arm, which are not believed to be life-altering or life-threatening, the force added.

The 14-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm.

Det Sgt Millie Gillett, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We know a number of people will have witnessed this incident at Mansfield bus station and its aftermath.

"I'd like to reassure residents that it was an isolated incident involving two people known to each other."
