Arrest after boy seriously injured in park
GoogleA teenage boy has been arrested after a 16-year-old boy suffered a serious head injury in a park in Mansfield.
Nottinghamshire Police said the boy was being treated in hospital following an incident in Ladybrook Park in the early hours of Wednesday.
The force said a 16-year-old boy had been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Officers have appealed for anyone who saw or heard what happened to contact the force.
Det Sgt Nathan Bingham said: "The victim in this case suffered a very serious head injury and is currently being treated in hospital.
"As we work to understand exactly what happened and why, we are appealing for everyone with information to come forward.
"We know this incident was witnessed and potentially filmed by multiple people who have yet to speak to us.
"I want them to understand just how serious this incident was and how important it is that they come forward."
