Extreme heat has led to intermittent issues with security screening equipment at an airport.

Guernsey Ports said a record-breaking 35C (95F) was recorded on the island, which has also caused issues with the airport's air conditioning system in the terminal building.

It said industrial fans had been installed and bottled water had been offered to passengers to "maintain safe, secure, and continuous operations".

Ports said further measures being taken taken in the following weeks to improve air conditioning systems across the terminal building.

Travellers have been urged to avoid spending more time than necessary in the airport terminal during the extreme temperatures.
