Parts of a town centre were cordoned off after two men were attacked, with at least one of them stabbed, and taken to hospital.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) said officers were called to Castle Street in Reading, Berkshire, at about 22:50 BST on Tuesday. Part of Castle Street and an area in Hosier Street were taped off but the cordons were lifted on Wednesday afternoon.

Both of the injured men had injuries that were not life threatening. One of them has since been discharged from hospital.

A 29-year-old man and a 52-year-old man, both from Reading, were arrested and remain in custody, a TVP spokesperson said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or make an online report on TVP's website.
