Reading have signed Burton Albion centre-back and captain Udoka Godwin-Malife for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.
The 26-year-old joined the Brewers in 2024, where he went on to make 88 appearances, scoring three goals.
Godwin-Malife previously played for Forest Green Rovers 128 times and had spells at Swindon Town and Oxford City, where he first came through.
In the 2021/22 campaign, he was part of Forest Green's League Two title-winning side, making 30 appearances across the season.
"We are very pleased to get the move for Udoka over the line," Royals boss Leam Richardson told the club website, external.
"He is someone we have tracked for a number of months now, and it has taken a lot of work to make it happen, but we could not be happier.
"A versatile defender with the leadership qualities we have been looking for, Udoka is a character and player we are delighted to have in the camp, and we cannot wait to get started."
