A "substantial" cannabis farm made up of 150 plants has been discovered in a home.

Police were called to a house in Kingshill Road in Swindon, Wiltshire, after a report from an electricity company on Thursday afternoon.

No one was found at the address and the home was cordoned off while investigations continue.

Wiltshire Police said: "We will be looking to secure a closure order for the property to prohibit any unauthorised person from returning to the property for three months while we continue to investigate."

Police tape could be seen stretched across the front entrance of the property on Friday, and blue forensic gloves could be seen outside the home.

Green barriers also blocked off an area that has been dug up near the pavement and two officers remained on the scene.

Officers said all electrical, gas and structural issues at the home had been assessed and made safe.

Firefighters told BBC Wiltshire they also attended Kingshill Road on Thursday to "assist police" and left the scene by about 14:30 BST.

SSEN, the energy company thought to have raised the alarm, has been contacted for comment.
