M11 shut and delays on M25 due to 'emergency repairs'
National HighwaysParts of the M11 and M25 were shut in Essex due to "emergency road repairs", National Highways has said.
Two lanes of the M25 were closed anticlockwise at junction 27, and there were delays of up to 90 minutes and 11 miles of congestion at its peak on Tuesday, the agency added.
The southbound M11 link road to the M25 at junction six was also fully closed.
Both roads reopened on Wednesday, more than 24 hours after the initial closure.
National Highways said contractors had been on site overnight to carry out repairs; however, an additional defect was found.
