Your weather photos of skies filled with drama

After weeks of hot weather, the beginning of August has seen cooler temperatures and spells of rain across north-east England and Cumbria.

But that has not stopped our Weather Watchers getting outside and snapping photographs of the dramatic skies the rain has brought.

Here are some of our favourites.

MackemIan A field with a group of round hay bales. There are rolling fields in the distance broken up by trees and hedges which have been cast in shadow. The orange sky is covered in a large thick cloud at the top. Towards the bottom of the sky the clouds are more sparse with bits of the blue, grey and pink sky peeking through. MackemIan

jackdog A part of the stone circle which is made up of large grey boulders of various shapes. There is a collection of smaller stones in the centre. The grass below is green with patches of yellow and brown. Behind it there is a group of trees with dark green leaves and a large fell to the centre-left. There are wispy clouds above the fell and the clouds further up are thicker and grey.jackdog

Karrie A valley of fields, but the grass has turned a brown-green colour. In the right corner the fields are broken up by small, stone walls. There are groups of dark trees throughout the fields. The sky is covered in white and grey large clouds with part of a bright rainbow poking through and disappearing behind the horizon.Karrie

Luke_Northumberland A valley of green fields interspersed with fences, trees and hedges. The sky is covered in dark clouds, casting the fields in shadow. Partway up the sky is a break in the clouds with the bridge sun coming through. Beams of light spread out from the sun, lighting parts of the shadowed fields.Luke_Northumberland

Gill Helps The curved pier at Sunderland which is surrounded by a calm, blue-grey sea. In front of the pier is a beach of dark sand with the pointed roofs of six buildings visible below the road. There is a large grey cloud covering most of the bottom of the sky, but the sky is bright and blue towards the top.Gill Helps

Bletheration A rusted green and brown gate opening onto a country road with fields on either side. It is being held up by a stone pillar which is covered in yellow moss. The grass on the left side of the concrete road is overgrown and there is a wooden and wire fence beyond it, with more overgrown yellowish grass on the other side. There are ells in the distance and the sky above is bright blue but mostly covered in white fluffy clouds.Bletheration
