Guernsey's Merrien 'chuffed' with Commonwealth silver

Alison Merrien has won Guernsey's only medal at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Merrien was beaten 2-0 in the women's bowls singles final by England's Katherine Rednall and had to settle for silver.

For Merrien it was the latest medal in an illustrious career that has put Guernsey bowls on the map.

She won the three gold medals at the World Indoor Bowls Championship and this year took the World Bowls Indoor Championship title.
