Watch: Artist's 'ghost fleet' of sunken model ships
An artist hand-builds miniature ships, sinks them and then dives down to recover them years later to see their transformation into haunting wrecks.
Nils Lagergren, from Sweden, said building model ships had been passed down from his grandfather and father. Now he is fascinated by how the models are changed by nature and time.
He makes them from old materials such as plastic and soda cans, then submerges them in the Baltic Sea. "Nature is my co-artist," he said.
Lagergren calls the slow-art project Ghost Fleet. A selection of the wrecks are on show at Thompson's Gallery in Aldeburgh, Suffolk.
