A man has appeared in court accused of murdering a 54-year-old woman in Dundee.

Lili Stojanova was found unresponsive at the property in Milnbank Road, in the city's west end, at about 09:55 on 6 December and died at the scene a short time later.

In a statement issued through Police Scotland, her family described her as "a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter and a woman of remarkable talent."

Andrew Bajek, 42, appeared in private at Dundee Sheriff Court charged with murder and he made no plea.

He was fully committed and remanded in custody.

The statement from Ms Stojanova's family added that she was "an artist in every sense."

It said: "She expressed herself through her art which was a reflection of her gentle heart and unique soul.

"Losing her is a tragedy, and it is something our family is struggling to comprehend."
