The Battle of Flowers is set to return to its original route in August for its day and night parades.

Organisers said this year's event would bring colour, creativity and community spirit back to its "iconic home" of Victoria Avenue in St Helier.

The annual two-day floral carnival was rerouted to and from the Esplanade in St Helier last year which organisers had described as "logistically really difficult to do".

This year the day parade is set to take place along Victoria Avenue on 14 August at 15:00 BST, with gates opening shortly after 12:00, and the night parade is due to follow on 15 August at 20:45, with gates opening shortly after 18:30.

Both events will be free to enter, however organisers have encouraged the public to support the festival with donations if they are able.

Organisers said it would take about two hours for all of the floats to complete the route and they encouraged spectators to arrive early and enjoy the full experience.

'Truly inspiring'

Chairperson of the Battle of Flowers Association Martyn Maguire said: "We are incredibly grateful to the community, volunteers, and sponsors who continue to support the Battle of Flowers.

"The creativity and dedication behind every float is truly inspiring and we are proud to see the parade return to its iconic home.

"This event belongs to the island, and we need everyone's support to keep the magic of the Battle alive for future generations."
