A town will be hosting a free community carnival to mark the end of its upcoming hot air balloon festival.

Telford's Community Carnival Day will take place in Town Park on Sunday 30 August to bring the 2026 Balloon Fiesta to a close.

The event will celebrate the area's "rich, cultural diversity" and will be a "vibrant finale" to the weekend, Telford and Wrekin Council said.

It will begin at 12:30 BST and will showcase a range of performances and community groups from across the borough.

Councillor Angela McClements said it was a "wonderful opportunity to celebrate the diversity that makes Telford such a vibrant and welcoming borough".

"This event reflects the values of inclusion, friendship and understanding that are so important to our communities," she added.

"I encourage everyone to come along and be part of the celebrations."
