Biker flown to hospital after crash on A9 near Dunbeath

A motorcyclist has been flown to hospital after a collision with a van on the A9 in Caithness.

Emergency services were alerted to the crash near Dunbeath just after 15:00 on Tuesday.

Two ambulances, a doctor and two air ambulances were sent to the scene, with a critical care team on board one of the helicopters.

The biker was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment, and the road at the scene closed until about midnight.
