A 16-year-old boy is in hospital with "life-threatening" injuries following a crash in Sheffield, police said.

Officers were called to Jordanthorpe Parkway at about 20:30 GMT on Monday to reports of a collision between a silver Seat Ibiza and a black Nissan Qashqai.

Two occupants of the Seat, a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, suffered life-threatening and serious injuries respectively, South Yorkshire Police said, while two other Seat occupants and one Nissan occupant had minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours after the crash, which happened near a roundabout where the road meets Dyche Lane. It reopened at 03:00 on Tuesday.
