A woman in her 60s died at a house in Burnage, police say

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died at a house in a suburban street.

Officers were called to Ivylea Road in Burnage, south Manchester, after reports of an assault at about 08:00 BST on Wednesday, Greater Manchester Police said.

The force said a woman in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene. Her cause of death is not yet known.

GMP said the teenager remained in custody for questioning.
