In pictures: Joyous fans gather across the US and Canada to watch World Cup final

From New York to San Francisco and Toronto, football fans have gathered across North America for the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina.

Spirits were high despite none of the three tournament co-hosts - US, Canada and Mexico - making it to Saturday's nail-biting conclusion.
