XL bully dog seized in police raid
PA MediaA suspected XL bully dog has been seized in a police raid after a man was bitten on his arm.
Hertfordshire Police said a man in his 20s was arrested at a property in Wisden Road, Stevenage, on Thursday, on suspicion of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control.
He has since been released on bail.
It said the man who was injured was attacked at a house in the same street, on Saturday, and needed hospital treatment.
Ownership of American XL bully dogs is restricted under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
Since 31 December 2023, it has been illegal to sell, give away, abandon or breed from an XL bully and since 1 February 2024, it has been a criminal offence to own an XL bully without an exemption certificate.
