Teen arrested over e-scooter and pedal bike crash

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after a cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash with an e-scooter.

Police responded to the collision at Hoglands Park in Southampton at 13:48 BST on Thursday.

The Hampshire force said the victim was a 62-year-old woman and the boy had been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has also been accused of operating a motor vehicle without insurance and a licence.

The suspect has since been bailed while inquiries continued.

The force appealed to anyone who had witnessed the incident or had relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch.
