Two boys and man charged with murder

A man and two teenagers have been charged with the murder of a 25-year-old who died in an attack on a busy high street.

Police were called to Shields Road in the Byker area of Newcastle at 19:25 BST on Tuesday after reports of an assault.

Emergency services found Gino Robb there with serious knife wounds and he was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later.

Jed Grieve, 33, of Orpington Avenue, Walker, and two boys aged 14 and 16, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with murder. They are due to appear at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Two men, aged 22 and 24, and a boy,16, who were arrested on suspicion of murder have all been released on bail pending further inquiries, Northumbria Police said.

A 40-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder has also been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Det Ch Insp Mark Atherton said officers remained in Byker and Walker.

"As part of our investigation, we are continuing to ask for information from anyone who saw two people on an electric motorbike which we believe entered Shields Road from the area of Grace Street in the minutes leading up to the incident, before then heading back along Shields Road and back into the area of Grace Street," he added.
