Walk-in light sculpture, music and dance at event

Music, aerial circus, creative workshops and a walk-in inflatable sculpture are among attractions at a youth-led festival.

Same Difference Festival returns to West Park, Wolverhampton, from 11:00 BST to 18:00 BST on Saturday.

Organisers said the "vibrant event" has been delivered by youth groups from across the city's Cultural Education Partnership (CEP) and "genuinely reflects the voices and experiences of young people in Wolverhampton".

It added the occasion was key event within the three-year Wolverhampton City of Youth Culture programme, funded by Arts Council England.

The festival brings together artists, performers, community organisations and young people to "create a vibrant event where everyone is welcomed, valued and encouraged to take part", a CEP spokesperson said.

Among highlights, the inflatable sculpture Colourscape transforms colour, light and music into a "unique immersive experience".

While the Sky Pixies are set to delight guests with their aerial circus performances throughout the day.

CEP said shaping the festival had given young people the opportunity to develop leadership skills and influence cultural activity.

Kelly Jeffs, programme manager for Wolverhampton City of Youth Culture at Wolverhampton Arts Centre, said the Same Difference Festival "created a welcoming space where young people, families and communities can experience creativity together, discover new opportunities and celebrate the diversity that makes our city unique".

"Throughout the programme we've seen how arts and culture can build confidence, strengthen connections and inspire young people to see themselves as active contributors to Wolverhampton's future."

The event is free but people need to book via Eventbrite, organisers added.
