Special constable sent for trial on rape charges
FacebookA special constable has been sent for trial on charges of rape and coercive and controlling behaviour.
William Towner, 26, a special constable with Surrey Police, appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court, where the case was sent to Guildford Crown Court for a hearing on 27 July.
Surrey Police said that Towner had been charged with one count of coercive and controlling behaviour and one count of rape relating to a female complainant between 2016 and 2017.
He is also charged with one count of coercive and controlling behaviour and two counts of rape relating to a second female complainant between 2020 and 2022.
