Part of Nottingham's tram network will be shut for two weeks to allow track maintenance works to be carried out.

Nottingham Express Transit (NET) services between Wilkinson Street and The Forest will be suspended from 26 July to 9 August, with all stops in between remaining closed.

A replacement bus service will operate between the two park and ride sites while the works take place.

Services are set to resume from all stops from 10 August, NET said.

Andy Downie, head of operations and safety at NET, said: "Ensuring we carry out routine maintenance work is essential for providing a safe and reliable service for the thousands of passengers who use our trams.

"The tram network serves communities across the city every day, and by regularly renewing and refreshing our infrastructure, this means we can continue to deliver a tram service that passengers can rely on.

"We apologise for any inconvenience these upcoming works may cause. During this time, where possible we'd encourage customers to allow a little extra time before travelling."
